Welcome to Tomato Club 2023!

A warm welcome to "The Burnt Hill Herb Co. Tomato Club 2023".

We have been overwhelmed by the support and response to our tomato club which we have introduced for the first time for the growing season of 2023. So, welcome to the club, here is some info how it works and what to do as an esteemed member of the club.

So, how much are we charged and when?

Small farm share club members are paying £10/month for 3 months, for their share of the harvest. This comprises of six collections of 333g. (2 kg in total.)

Medium farm share club members are paying £15/month for 3 months for their share of the harvest, This comprises of six collections of 500g. (3 kg in total)

Subscription payments are automatic and are taken 3 times, once per month for the next 3 months.

This years collection dates / slots are:

Sunday 13th August - 2pm START (FARM TOUR EVENT)

Sunday 27th August - 2-3pm.

Sunday 10th September - 2-3pm.

Sunday 24th September - 2-3pm.

Sunday 8th October - 2-3pm.

Sunday 22nd October - 2pm START (RECIPE EXCHANGE EVENT)

What happens on our first collection?

-

On Sunday 13th August we will be running a short farm tour for the first pickup slot, exclusively for tomato club members and a Tomato-growing related workshop session, where we will be looking in greater detail about different types, varieties and habits of our various tomato plants. We will also get a chance to taste the early varieties as they become ripened. We have also developed some exclusive recipe's to share with you so that you have some inspiration on how to best utilise your tomatoes this month.

Every time we pick a new variety for you, we'll include a unique collectable info card on that particular variety in your bag telling you all about the unique features of that variety of delicious fruit.

Please note that we grow and cut our tomatoes fresh for you, to order, just prior to the pickup slot. This allows for the freshest possible fruit to be available for you. As you may have realised the sun has been periodic in making an appearance these past few weeks. We have plenty of green tomatoes currently ripening on our vines, so fingers crossed; we have enough sunshine to help them to ripen for the first pickup on the 13th.

Rest assured, if they haven't ripened, then we will be in touch and figure out a way to share what has ripened quickly enough amongst you all and then compensate you on the following pickup for any shortfalls.

Please bear with us at this stage, this is the first time we're setting up the club and although we've spent months figuring out the finer details, there may be a few teething problems as we get up and running. We are after-all, at the mercy of our glorious Yorkshire summer!

 If we’re on holiday for one of the collection dates, are we still members?

Yes, of course! Everyone deserves a holiday! you can either choose to let someone else collect on your behalf that day, delay your collection by 2 weeks or we can just process a refund request for that portion of your share. Please just email us directly at info@burnthillherbs.com or call Jon on 07967198928.
